The records provided herein are intended for the private non-commercial use of the general public. Only documents affecting title to real
property which have been recorded pursuant to the Real Property Law of New York are available through this site.
The Index of real property records is maintained by the Office of the Richmond County Clerk according to the provisions of section 7-626 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York. Information contained in the indexes maintained by the Office of the Richmond County Clerk is provided by the parties recording the real property instruments. The purpose of the index is to direct you to documents which have been recorded.
Records on this site are NOT indexed by street address. You will need to know the name of one of the parties or the tax block and lot number of the property in order to search the indexes. The tax block and lot information may be obtained from the website of the New York City Department of Finance, or may be accessed by clicking on the “Block/Lot Search” option on the right side menu. Please note that pursuant to the Administrative Code of the City of New York, the tax block and lot number index system has been in use since 1981. Block and lot numbers in documents recorded prior to 1981 refer generally to “land block” numbers which may not match the tax block numbers designated by the City of New York for those properties. When searching properties by party name, you are advised to search spelling variations of proper names in order to maximize search results.
The real property records available on this site consist of deeds recorded from 1945 to the present and mortgages and other real property instruments recorded from 1965 to the present along with the index for those instruments.
